Sunday Offertory & Bringing up of the Gifts
This weekend we will resume the collection of Sunday Offertory monies as we did before the pandemic. The ministers of hospitality will collect your money during the offertory hymn as before. The collections baskets at the doors of the Church are removed. I want to thank your on going generosity to our parishes and would like to encourage you to keep being as generous as possible.
Also, we are resuming bringing up the gifts of bread and wine during the offertory procession. I would also invite any families or groups to let the ministers of hospitality know if you would like to bring up the gifts at Mass.
Meaning - While it may seem at first glance to be a type of intermission, this is, in fact, a liturgical action with a long history and deep symbolism. The faithful are encouraged at this time to join the offering in a spiritual way and place our own hearts on the altar so that we might be transformed in a mystical way into the "body" of Christ.
The Major Reliquary of St . Brother Andre Bessette - is coming to our Family of Parishes Tuesday, October 25th - at St Joseph's Church. The relics be in Church, starting at 12 Noon. Everyone is welcome to come and venerate them throughout the day. There will be Divine Mercy at 3 pm, a talk at 6 pm and Mass at 7 pm.
Please see other announcements below and a testimony from Alanna Fitzpatrick.
Have a nice weekend.
