We have reached the end of journey through church history. This weekend St. John Paul II takes center stage. I hope you have enjoyed this journey through church history. Next Study - Psalms: The School of Prayer
Our next study will be on the Psalms. This study will also be through Ascension Press. Personally, this is a book of the Bible that I have not spent much time studying. Yet, the book of Psalms is read at every single Mass! This will be time well spent and I hope are excited to begin this new adventure. We are on schedule to finish our current study on October 2. Taste of St. Francis
Don't forget to join the fun for the Taste of St. Francis that will be held immediately after 10:30 Mass in the Family Life Center. October 4 is the memorial of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of our parish. Although we will celebrate St. Francis this weekend, I challenge you to make it to daily Mass on Tuesday!
St. Therese of the Child Jesus (a/k/a St. Therese of Lisieux).
Today is her memorial. Not only is she a saint, but she is a doctor of the Church, which puts her in rare company. She was born in 1873, and died at the age of 24 from tuberculosis. She entered the Carmelite Convent at the age of 15. Her spiritual memoire is The Story of a Soul. Her "Little Way" has been a great inspiration to so many. Her last words before she died were, "My God, I love you." St. Therese is also rare because both of her parents, Martin and Zelie, are canonized saints! St. Therese of Lisieux, pray for us!
