Brothers:
I start with an apology as this note is way over due, but I want to begin by thanking all of you who helped with the Parish Fest. Although the weather was threatening which caused us to pivot an indoor event, it still went off without a hitch in large part to many of you volunteering your time and effort. Thank you!
Men's Retreat
The Men's Retreat is quickly approaching. The weekend of Oct 14, 15, and 16 are the days set aside for St. James, and the St. Paul Retreat Center is completely open with no COVID restrictions.
I would strongly encourage you to consider spending time for yourself and God that week. Suggested cost is only $225. You can register by utilizing clicking
here or visiting the
stpaulretreatcenter.org. Hurry, only two weeks before the Retreat.
September Gathering Recap
Attached is the presentation we reviewed at our September gathering.
We did set some dates for future activities including supporting St. James' Trunk n' Treat on Sunday Oct 30 after 11:30PM Mass, decorating the Parish House on Saturday morning, Dec 3; and our annual Holiday Dinner on Saturday evening January 14, 2023.
We also discussed re-introducing our Pasta! Pasta! Dinner and set sight on Saturday, Nov 5. However, after discussing the event with many members of the Parish Staff, the decision was made to hold off for now as the Usher's will be holding their Pancake Breakfast after Sunday masses on Nov 6. The Usher would appreciate our help with the breakfast, so please look for more details soon on this. But, as for the dinner, we'll have to look for a new date.
There is also a subcommittee meeting on future faith topic for the group to discuss at future meetings. That group is supposed to report out at our October Meeting.
October Gathering - Thursday, Oct 13
Speaking of our next gathering, it will occur Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 7PM in the St. James Disciples Room. Please RSVP in the link at the end of this message.
Finally - Archdiocese Catholic Men Challenge
In a separate note, I'll forward a note I recently received from the Archdiocese regarding Catholic Men Challenge and Exodus 90, a day of prayer, reflection and action around Proposal 3 Amendment. This will also be a topic during our Oct gathering.
Thank you for your support. I love to see you on October 13! Have a Blessed Week!
