Respect Life & Domestic Violence Awareness Month:
Almost 50 years after Roe V. Wade, the Supreme Court has finally returned to the American people the authority to govern ourselves on the matter of abortion. Of course, justice requires the basic protections of the law against violence be extended to the pre-born child. But justice alone isn't enough. Instead, it is a calling to Catholics at every level to look forward and build a better future. That means doing whatever we can through law, policy, politics, and culture to provide the care and support necessary for flourishing throughout the entire arc of life's journey. Through our collective and individual actions, we can build a culture of life and civilization of love in America. Let us begin.

Domestic Violence is a hidden scourge on our families and communities. Those who are victimized often keep it a private matter for various reasons. Yet it touches many, and knows no boundaries of race, social class, ethnicity, creed or age. Statistics suggest one in four women experience domestic violence in their lifetime, and three in four Americans are reported to be a known victim. Although the majority of victims are female and estimated 15% are males. Violence against women and men, inside or outside the home, is never justified. Violence in any form - physical, sexual, psychological, or verbal, is sinful; often, It is a crime, as well. USCCB, When I Call for Help. 2002.

Prayer to obtain grace through the intercession of Saint Faustina
O Jesus, You inspired Saint Faustina with profound veneration for Your boundless Mercy. Grant me through her intercession, if it be Your holy will, the grace …for which I fervently pray. My sins render me unworthy of Your Mercy but be mindful of Saint Faustina’s spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, and reward her virtue by granting the petition which, with childlike confidence, I present to You through her intercession.
Our Father…, Hail Mary…, Glory…
Saint Faustina, pray for us.
