Carl is an intern with the Diocese of Richmond's Office for Vocation. He is discerning God's call for the diocesan priesthood by experiencing life in our parish.

Holy Coss Strategic Plan Updates
The top highlights recommended from the Strategic Planning Committees are:
- Install a TV monitor in Commons to communicate information to parish
- Host a "Called and Gifted" workshop on Nov 12th to identify parishioner gifts and charisms to build up the church
- Mail a post card to all parishioners to let them know Jesus is here and we care about them
- Launch Sunday Christian formation for youth including new programs called Edge and Lifeteen
- Form small faith "life groups" to unite communities to support one another through life milestones and trials/joys
The Communication Strategic Team needs support in marketing/graphic design experience. If interested in helping or if you have questions about the plan, please contact Kaky Bowden at kbowden@holycrosslynchburg.org.

If you love plants, flowers, decorating, watering, or simply want to help make Holy Cross look its best, then the newly forming Art & Environment Ministry is for you!
It’s for those who not only love these activities, but want to work to make them happen by organizing the floral tributes weekly, planning seasonal plants and décor, decorating (put up and take down) for Easter, Christmas, and other occasions, and anything else the group sees as needed to make our church beautiful, warm and welcoming.
Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 10am, so please pray about this ministry and if it feels like a good fit for you! Please let Kaky & Annette know if you’re coming by RSVPing to Annette in-person in the office, or email aflagg@holycrosslynchburg.org.

As part of our strategic plan and in response to the previous Life Group survey, several Life Groups will be formed next month. We will focus on parent groups to support the domestic church and family.
These groups will be guided by the Holy Spirit and the needs of the members. The goal is to support each other as we journey through life phases.

NEW CEMETERY UPDATES!!
The St Joseph of Arimathea Ministry has updated and finalized the Rules & Regulations for our Holy Cross Cemetery. With the assistance of our Diocesan Office of Cemetery and Funeral Services, we reviewed and analzyed our current burial agreements and have developed our current rules and regulations to maintain, preserve and protect our sacred grounds and all buried therin.
This Diocesan office governs the transactions of all the cemeteries in the Diocese and Holy Cross is audited to ensure we follow our rules and regulations.
For those with burial spaces, we hope that you all find these updated regulations similar to those written on your current burial agreements. If you have a burial aggreement and need clarification, please let us know.

2022 Public Square Rosary Crusade!

The month of October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary, with the Feast of our Lady of the Rosary being celebrated on October 7th each year. It was institutued to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
