We will have a collection for the victims of Hurricane Ian at this weekend's Masses. Please consider donating to help our brothers and sisters who have lost everything in the wake of this natural disaster.
The USCCB, prompted by the recent hurricanes and calamities that followed, is asking parishes to consider taking up a voluntary special collection to support the Church and humanitarian needs arising from the disasters. Collected funds will be used where they are most needed.
Archbishop Gomez, President of the USCCB, requested that this special emergency collection take place as soon as possible. If you choose to take up this collection, you are asked to forward your collected funds to the Diocese of Cleveland Finance Office for proper handling. The USCCB requests that parishes send their donations to their diocese for processing and that the diocese should then send the total collected to the USCCB.
Funds collected will be used to support the efforts of the USCCB for pastoral and reconstruction needs of the Church and Catholic Charities USA/Catholic Relief Services, the official relief agencies of the U.S. Catholic Church, as they and their local agencies/partners respond to immediate emergency needs for such necessities as water, food, shelter, and medical care and in aid in long-term rebuilding and recovery efforts.
Thank you for considering this optional special emergency collection to help our brothers and sisters in need.
