Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On Monday November 2nd we will be having a Mass of Remembrance remembering all those who have died, especially those who have died within the past year. Starting this weekend the Book of the Dead will be placed in the front of the Church for individuals to sign writing the names of those you would like to remember. This book will be placed on the Blessed Mothers altar next to a candle that will be lit during the entire month of November starting on November 2nd. You may also drop in your All Souls envelope in the collection the weekend of November 1st or place it in the basket on All Souls Day. Those envelopes will be placed on the corner of the altar as in past years.
The Mass of Remembrance is scheduled for 7 pm with a light reception to follow in Brenner Hall. The names of those who have died within the past year will be listed on a board in the front of Church. As in past years we will recite the names of the deceased from the past year during the Prayer of the Faithful and we will light a candle in the front. You are welcome to take a candle with you after the Mass of Remembrance. If you are a parishioner with a loved one who died within the past year (even though not a parishioner of Saint Pat's) we ask that you submit those names to us by October 31st at the latest to be included on the board. You can visit our website
http://stpatrickyork.org/mass-of-remembrance and fill out the form provided or call the parish office and talk to Peggy at 717-848-2007.
I invite all parishioners to attend this special Mass of Remembrance. Since Monday November 2nd is All Souls Day we will celebrate Mass at 8:30 am (with the School Community followed by the First Grade Saints Program) and at 12:15 pm. Confessions will be available from 11:30 am - Noon and from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. At 4:30 pm I will offer prayers at the Old Saint Patrick/Saint Mary's cemetery located on Violet Hill.
It is important for us to remember our deceased loved ones throughout the month of November. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen!
Sincerely,
Fr. Keith M. Carroll
