Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Pilgrimage
October 2023
Fr. Ray is planning a Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico and is looking for interested people. The dates will be the 3rd or 4th week of October 2023. It will be a five-day pilgrimage with one day of travel at both ends. We would leave from SFO and fly directly to Mexico City. Travel, lodging, most meals, tour guide, bus and bus driver would be included in the price. The price is not yet fixed but will hopefully be less than $3,000 per person. Catholic Travel will plan the Pilgrimage. If you are interested, please email Fr. Ray at: rmallett1@hotmail.com or call the Parish Office at 510-537-0806. Your name and those who are joining you will be put on a ’Priority List’. Act fast because spots will fill quickly! YEARLY MASS ATTENDANCE COUNTING
October is a very important month for our Church. Our annual mass count is being taken at all masses during the month. Ushers will be taking the count from the side aisles. These numbers are submitted to the Diocese of Oakland at the end of the month. Let us take this opportunity to invite friends and to bring your entire family to OLG to worship.
ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCK COLLECTION
During this month of October, our homeless ministry is seeking donations of men’s black athletic type socks. Collection barrels are located at the Somerset entrance of the church and in the Parish Office. Thank you for your generosity! Pax Christi USA's campaign this month, "Bread Not Stones", calls for our military spending to be redirected to the challenges presented by the pandemic, the climate crisis, poverty, and inequality. ICF DINNER AND MEETING
October 13th
The ICF Branch #343 will resume their regular dinner and meeting on October 13th in Stack Center. Doors open at 6:00pm and dinner begins at 6:30pm. OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT
October 15th
The Knights of Columbus continue our 75th Anniversary Celebration with an Outdoor Movie Night featuring “Frankenweenie” on Saturday, October 15th at 6:30pm at the St. Francis Garden Chapel Lawn. Admission is free! There will be treats for the kids! Food will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit Our Lady of Grace Church. Come in costume!

2ND ANNUAL TRUNK OR TREAT

OLG School is inviting all to their annual “Trunk or Treat” on Sunday, October 30th from 10:00am-2:30pm at the Rear Parking Lot behind the School. Admission is free! Join us for Games and Halloween Goodies for kids of all ages. Costumes are welcome, please nothing gory or un-Christian. See you there!

BEWARE OF EMAIL SCAMS
Recently, again, there have been fraudulent emails circulating through our parish, this time using Fr. Ray's name and a fake email address seeking gift card donations. Be assured that our priests at OLG would NEVER solicit funds through any electronic means! If you do receive one of these emails and are unsure, do not open it and call the Parish Office or the School to make sure it's genuine. For your safety, please do not open these emails and report these to the police and Jay in the Parish Office at 537-0806. God Bless and be safe!
