Brothers:
A big thanks to those who were able to meet this past Thursday, and to Joe, Robert and Jerry who spent the weekend at the Men's Retreat. Thanks for attending. I hope you had a weekend full of peace!
October Gathering Recap
We had some great discussion around the calendar and our overall mission. As a reminder, our mission is "to encourage and energize the Men of St. James to explore and refine their callas a Catholic Christians in identifying way of strengthening their commitment to being more faithful servants, inspired spiritual family leaders and loving examples of Jesus Christ amongst us all." We discussed what it means to be part of the group and what it means.
We have a small group working further on this, and look forward to their report out at a future gathering.
Upcoming Events
Speaking of the future, the parish is looking for our help to execute a couple of community building activities in the upcoming week.
The first is the annual Trunk 'n Treat event on Sunday, Oct 30, 2022, after 11:30 Mass (around 12:30PM). We need hands to set up and serve Benito's Pizza (thanks Al Roma for arranging) and beverages, as well as a couple of Pop Up Tents. We'll set up starting around 11:30 and start serving around 12:30. Please RSVP below if you can assist.
The second event will be the Pancake Breakfast after each Mass on Sunday, Nov 6. We are looking to help serve and clean up during the breakfast. Mark your calendar now and I'll send an opportunity to sign up later this month.
Holiday Dinner Poll
We discuss during the meeting holding our annual Holiday Dinner in mid January; however, Fr. Ed is not available that weekend. In discussing dates with Fr. Ed., we settle upon a potential new date of Friday evening, January 6, 2023.
Beside the RSVP for the Trunk 'n Treat on Oct 30, there is also a poll to check on everyone's availability for January 6, 2023. Please reply back as soon as possible.
I hope everyone has a great, blessed week!
