Ms. Baumert’s mother is very ill. Please keep her and their family in your prayers as this is a most difficult time for them.
The Big Event, April 20th, 2018
Things are coming together nicely for this year’s TBE. The biggest need right now is to sell tickets. The group agreed that most people wait to buy them until after Easter. We discussed creative ways to sell them. Berdo suggested doing a “drive through” to help parents get their tickets. McBride will check with Father Bernie about using the East Side drive of the church. Berdo offered to sell tickets after mass on Sunday. Flannery will check with the country club on size of tables, set up, verification that bathrooms will be cleaned and ready. At this point we will plan on food for 180 and seating for 150 or 160. We have had requests for groups to reserve tables. We will do our best to accommodate them but have encouraged them to come at the beginning of the evening to get their table as well. Joe Nichols will emcee the evening.
James Crossroads will start playing around 7 pm and they have new songs to sing. The live music will be a great addition to the event! Farmer, Berdo, Nichols, and Chenoweth have gathered many great door prizes from local businesses. Some items may be sold by silent auction.
Teacher Appreciation week:
Chenoweth has cute gifts already picked out for the teachers. Will get them delivered each morning. She will let the group know if she needs any help.
5th grade graduation:
Plans are underway for graduation on 5/19. Lynne Sheetz and Sonya Love Smith are coordinating. Tentative plans for that class to go to Adventureland on 5/21 after their school sleepover on 5/20 (pending school board approval).
Next home and school meeting will be May 14th at 6:30pm at Unc and Nephs for our final meeting of the year.
Respectfully submitted,
Diana Flannery
