ThanksGifting and October 30th Events
We hope this communication finds you doing well as we transition into the last few months of 2022!
Within a few days, we will be experiencing the month of November which traditionally brings opportunities to reflect on the many blessings in our lives. We are often inspired to find ways to share those blessings and give to others in need.
Blessed Sacrament’s annual tradition of offering hospitality to our neighbors in need is potentially one of the ways to do this. This year’s event will be a bit different than previous years. It is titled “ThanksGifting” and is in partnership with Saint Vincent de Paul (SVDP) and North Scottsdale Farmers Market (FM) and its vendors. On Sunday, November 20th during the ThanksGifting experience, our guests will be accompanied by a ‘personal shopper’ who will guide and assist them in selecting products that they are in need of in order to fill their ThanksGifting Goody Bag. They will select from an assortment of donated health, hygiene and paper products, a variety of items provided by FM vendors on the day of the event, items from the Saint Vincent de Paul Pantry, and notes of encouragement from our Parish Groups/Ministries and teens.
As in previous years, SVDP will help to identify our parishioners/neighbors in need. We anticipate again serving more than 100 families from Blessed Sacrament, Saint Vincent de Paul, Sober Living Houses, Catholic Charities Affordable Housing, and possibly a few more.
There are a variety of ways to participate. You can:
-Donate the requested health and hygiene items;
-Volunteer your time; or
-Contribute financially
