Dear Holy Trinity families,
What a blessed October we had! I am so grateful to be here at this school. We had a beautiful month dedicated to our Lady of the Rosary. We have been praying the rosary daily and Mary has certainly been interceding for us because of it. We hired our new music teacher (Welcome, Mrs. Dietz!) who brought five new students with her. We finished a very successful Marathon fundraiser, reaching over $43,000! 125% of our goal! I have also been fielding emails and phone calls from prospective families every week. News is starting to get out about the fantastic education and community environment available here at Holy Trinity School.
November has now begun, even if the weather does not seem to agree! Try to enjoy the warm temperatures while they last. Go on one more walk through the local trails with your family before the chilly weather sets in. On your walk together you can discuss all the wonderful things your children are learning in school like our virtue of the month, Stewardship, or ask them about the new Latin prayer they are going to learn, the Ave Maria.
As I write, we just finished our party for the Solemnity of All Saints Day. It was a wonderful time in the gym this afternoon. We started together with a Litany of Saints led by Fr. John Hayes and then all the children dressed in their saint costumes participated in the activities planned by Mrs. Marquette, Mrs. Theis, and Mrs. Cathey. Thank you, ladies! Of course, I must also thank our upper school student volunteers for helping everything run smoothly. The children had so much fun! Keep a look out for the photos on our social media!
CLASSICAL CORNER
I would like to publicly thank Fr. Hayes for the wonderful music we get to sing together and listen to at Mass. It truly lifts my soul to God. Well done, Father, and well done young singers!
If some of you are wondering about the post-communion song the schola sang this morning, it is called My Mercy. Here it is sung by an absolutely stunning women's choir of sisters in Kansas City, the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles: My Mercy
They are becoming quite popular for their music and for good reason. It sounds like music from the angels. Please enjoy this and the rest of their recordings. I used to play a lot of their music in the background when I gave quizzes or tests in my classroom. Consider playing their Advent at Ephesus album in your homes instead of Christmas music during the upcoming season of Advent.
