Mass of Remembrance
Monday, November 7th at 11am
The Mass of Remembrance is a special liturgy to celebrate the lives of our loved ones' who have gone before us to live in the light of the Lord. We invite your family and friends to join us for this Mass to cherish those we love and to honor their lives.

St Jude Circle will be selling Advent Candles the weekend of the First Sunday of Advent: November 26th and 27th, before and after all Masses.

40-Hours Devotion!
Dec 1st at 7 pm – Dec 3rd at 11 am
Come join us to welcome this Advent season by spending time with Jesus to combat evil in our country and world, celebrate the Eucharist, and seek spiritual growth for ourselves and our community.
What is the 40-Hours Devotion?
The 40 Hours Devotion was established in 16th century Europe during times of great tribulation in the Church and world. It consists of 40 hours of Eucharistic adoration with a combination of personal and private prayer. The devotion was made popular in the United States by St. John Henry Newman in the 19thcentury.
A Note on Security:
The church will remain locked outside normal business hours (8 am – 4 pm). A volunteer will be stationed at the side door to allow entrance and provide security at other times.

This series begins Tuesday, November 8th with sessions at both at 10am or 6:30pm. The series will last for six weeks.
The Bible and The Mass
Where do we find the Mass in the Bible? What is the relationship between the two? Discover why the liturgy is a major theme that runs through the entire Bible, from Genesis to the Book of Revelation.
We will not only look to the Law, the Prophets, and life and teachings of Jesus, we’ll also lean on the Doctors of the Church to enhance our understanding of the Mass.
We’ll see how the New Testament is concealed in the Old, the Old is revealed in the New, and why both point directly to the Mass, the sign of the New Covenant.
Uncover how and why all of God’s action, in creation and redemption, is ordered to the Mass.

Churches for Urban Ministry Annual Fruit Sale!!
The sale of fruit benefits Churches for Urban Ministry in many ways to support youth and families in inner city Lynchburg, including Camp Timothy, a Community Food Pantry, Families in Need Program, Timothy Afterschool Program, Training Young Men Successfully and other special programs.
To view available fruit choices and prices, see below. You may print out an order form or pick one up in the Commons. Please leave orders with checks in the Office or give them to Judith Boyd or Kaky Bowden.
All order are due Sunday, November 13th. Fruit will be available between December 5th-7th.
Holy Cross Jesse Tree Ministry
The Jesse Tree Ministry helps brighten the holidays for local families, children and seniors in need, by providing Thanksgiving food baskets, Christmas food baskets, gifts, and even stockings for the younger children. Many of the families assisted are from our parish community. Others are referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, McGurk House and Miriam’s House.

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
