A Statement of Faith from Msgr. Todd
Jesus is Lord! I offered that statement of faith yesterday morning (Tuesday) to start my homily because it not only resonated with the readings but also is a reminder to us of a basic truth, especially in the context of the midterm elections. I was so pleased to see how many of our parish family paused and spent time in adoration before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. In that encounter, Jesus gazes upon us with a tender and merciful love, and we have the opportunity to gaze back upon Jesus with hearts filled with gratitude. How could we not!! Jesus is Lord!! By his incarnation, death, and resurrection, he has won the victory for us, redeemed us, and called us to holiness. His Providence, His Divine plan is always at work, and our faith prompts us to recognize that great gift, to have confidence in His plan for us, and to align our will to the Father’s. This reality should always be our source of strength and our place for gratitude. With that in mind, let us continue to fix our gaze on Jesus, knowing that he is Lord and grateful for every good gift which He gives us. Peace, Msgr. Todd
