Dear Sacred Heart Parish Family,
We have had a beautiful start to the month of November. We owe a debt of gratitude to all those who helped with the liturgies this week, for all those who helped clean our cemetery last weekend, and everyone who helped place candles on graves All Souls evening.
It was an active week on the hill with a crew cleaning the perimeter of the cemetery and with specialists searching for unmarked graves. We have to report that a very large number of marked and unmarked graves have been located, with more to go. We are still assessing these initial findings and consulting with the Archdiocese and Catholic Cemeteries. We will have a fuller report for you in the near future.
Next Wednesday and Thursday we will be away at the Archdiocese's priest convocation, the first since 2019, as a result, there will be no confessions next Wednesday. We hope to have both Mass covered on Thursday, if not, our deacons will celebrate communion services.
Friday, November 11, Veterans Day, the parish office will be closed and there will be only one Mass at 8 AM.
This weekend's second collection will be for the retired priest's fund of the Archdiocese.
Have a blessed weekend and see you at Mass!
God bless,
Fr. Potts and Fr. Russo
