Reflections from Deacon Peter
For the last several years, Contra Costa County has observed November as Homelessness Awareness Month. As we head into the winter, it’s a good opportunity to highlight not only the challenge of homelessness but also the many ways in which our community–including the Church–is responding. Even if we want to follow Jesus’ command to care for the “least of these” (Mt 25:40) we’re not always sure what to do.

Upcoming Choral Opportunity
A choir is being put together to sing at the 11:00am Mass on the Solemnity of Christ the King on Sunday, November 20th. Rehearsal will take place on this Monday, November 14th at 6:00pm in the church. Contact Paul McWilliams at paulmcwilliams.scotland@gmail.com with any questions.

Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast
The St. Bonaventure Knights of Columbus are hosting a Pancake Breakfast on November 13, 2022, following the 7:30am and 9am Masses. Treat yourself, your family and friends to a delicious breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage/bacon, hash browns, fruit, juice and coffee prepared by the loving hands of the Parish Knights. To promote a spirit of fellowship, we are offering the breakfast FREE of charge. Free Will donations will be graciously accepted and donated to the Resurrection Choir to pay for their costs of providing music.

Respect Life Rosary - Sunday, Nov. 13th
Please join us for a Respect Life Rosary. We meet after the 9am Mass at the Grotto for the Unborn in the garden behind the church.

Giving Tree Begins Saturday, November 12th
Giving Tree has begun!!! If you would like to make Christmas merry for a needy person in our community, here’s what you can do: There are paper ornaments decorating Christmas trees in the foyer and near the side entrances to the Church. These paper ornaments have the gift wish for a specific person. Choose an ornament, and then purchase the gift indicated on the ornament. Wrap your gift and attach the ornament to the outside of the gift. Return your gift to the Church by Sunday, December 4th. You can pick as many ornaments as you like, just be sure you can return all of the gifts by the due date—
Please, don’t overextend yourself or your budget at this busy time of year.

Children’s Christmas Pageants
We are already planning our two children’s Christmas Pageants that will be held on Christmas Eve: the Early Childhood Christmas Pageant will be at the 4:00pm Mass and the Elementary School Pageant will be at the 6:00pm Mass.
The Early Childhood Christmas Pageant will feature children in pre-school-age 4 and Kindergarten, as they re-enact the story of the birth of Jesus. Please contact Rosa Rico (925-383-3066) or LaRae Pattison (925-408-1484) by November 20 to register your child for the pageant. There will be a parent meeting on Sunday, December 4 in Classroom B-1 after the 9am Mass.
The Elementary-Aged Christmas Pageant will feature children in Grades 1-5. The story of the birth of Jesus will be re-enacted with participants having speaking and acting parts. Please call Eileen Limberg at 672-5800, Ext. 2204, or email at elimberg@stbonaventure.net to register your child for this pageant. The first meeting will be on Wednesday, November 30 at 4pm in the Church.

The Classy Crafters thank you for making our Holiday Craft Sale a big success.
With your generosity, we were able to raise approximately $12,000 which will be donated to Hope Solutions. Thank you for supporting us with craft donations, baked goods for the Country Kitchen, and of course, by shopping the sale. Together, we will be making a big difference in many peoples' lives!

Desayuno de panqueques de Caballeros de Colón
Los Caballeros de Colón de San Buenaventura están organizando un desayuno de panqueques el 13 de noviembre de 2022 después de las misas de las 7:30am y las 9am. Disfrute usted, su familia y amigos un delicioso desayuno de panqueques, huevos, salchichas / tocino, papas fritas, fruta, jugo y café preparado por las manos amorosas de los Caballeros Parroquiales. Para promover un espíritu de compañerismo, ofrecemos el desayuno GRATIS. Giving Tree ha comenzado!!! Si desea hacer feliz la Navidad para una persona necesitada en nuestra comunidad, esto es lo que puede hacer: Hay adornos de papel que decoran los árboles de Navidad en el vestíbulo y cerca de las entradas laterales de la Iglesia. Estos adornos de papel tienen el deseo de regalo para una persona específica. Elija un adorno y luego compre el regalo indicado en el adorno. Envuelva su regalo y adjunte el adorno al exterior del regalo. Devuelva su regalo a la Iglesia antes del domingo 4 de diciembre. Adoration & Friday Holy Hour
We offer Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after 9:00am Mass in the Chapel. Monday through Thursday, Adoration continues for one hour after Mass. Friday Adoration continues until 3:00pm. The Friday Holy Hour beginning at 2:00pm includes the Rosary, the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and concludes with Benediction at 3:00pm.

STAYING CONNECTED
Sacraments, Pastoral Counseling, and Staff Support
We're here for you! Our clergy and pastoral staff are available to help. We can offer pastoral counseling by appointment, over the phone or by videocall, and the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available in person when needed. Please call the parish office at (925) 672-5800 to make an appointment. We offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the church on Saturdays at 3:30pm.
The office is open for walk-up visits, Monday-Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm (closed for lunch 1-1:30pm), and Friday 8:30am-12:30pm. Staff are also available by appointment. Please call the main office number or call or email the staff person directly.

The St. Bonaventure Food Pantry is open Tuesdays from 8:30-10:00am in the parish parking lot. See our website for more information. (Note: The Food Pantry thanks you for your continuing donations of food and other items, but is no longer requesting bags -- they have a sufficient supply.)
