HELPING THOSE IN NEED THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Food & Gift Card Donations
St. Vincent de Paul will be taking donations of food, cash and gift cards beginning this weekend-November 19th & 20th, before Thanksgiving Day.
Our greatest needs are: peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, fruit cups, canned soup, granola bars, boxed or packet fruit drinks, packages of peanut butter or cheese crackers, and individual chip snack bags.
We can also use: Safeway or Lucky cards (for families that are able to shop and prepare their own dinners), Shari’s cards (for our single clients and couples who are unable to cook), and checks made out to “St. Vincent de Paul” (to help with the many calls we are getting for help with rent and utilities.)
Food or gift cards that are brought the weekend before Thanksgiving may be placed in front of the Altar either before or after Mass.
Warm Coat Drive-November & December
SVdP is also collecting new and gently used coats, sleeping bags and blankets. Our main need is men’s coats in larger sizes; but we will accept women’s and children’s sizes too. Collection barrels are located at the Somerset entrance of the church and in the Parish Office. Please do not leave other articles of clothing at this time.
If you know someone in our community that could use help, please call our SVdP line at 510-581-2164. If you are interested in joining our ministry, please contact Heidi at 510-881-7850. Please pray for us and for those whom we are helping. As always—we greatly appreciate your generosity! We could not do this ministry without your support.
