Dear Parents-
I am not sure why, but the snow this week made it difficult to get through. Maybe we just weren’t prepared, or maybe it is a reminder of all the fun yet to come this winter, but it made many people a bit grumpy. I was surprised at how many students were not excited. Maybe I am getting old (no…I KNOW I am getting old), but I remember the first snow of the winter always being magical. Somehow it gave a mystical, magical quality to the world and the silence it brought was joy-filled! Today I pray for a little of that wonder and awe in each of our lives. We could sure use it! As we prepare for our Thanksgiving Break next week, may we search for a little bit of joy to take into the holiday with us. Something to share with our families and friends, maybe a little appreciation, encouragement, or care. This next week begins our holiday season 2022. My prayers are for you and your families as you gather and give thanks. May you enjoy a blessed Thanksgiving.
Winter gear will be required starting November 28th. Please remember that we play outside through all kinds of weather unless the temperature or windchill is below zero. That means all students will need coats, hats, mitten, snow pants, and boots every day. Thank you for your help with this.
Advent begins on Sunday, November 27th. These fast four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas will be jam-packed with activity. Plan now for your family to take a little time to slow down. How do you plan to observe Advent? Will you have a wreath? Will you say special prayers? Do good deeds for others? How will you set this season aside? Here at school, we will have prayer services each Monday morning at 8:15 AM at IC Church. We will light our wreath and observe the sacredness of the season. Each class will be doing a service project as well. Thank you for helping make this season special.
Don’t forget that tomorrow is a dress down reward day and Monday is a spirit wear dress down day. Hopefully these two days will brighten our paths into the break.
Many Blessings!
Mrs. Ashley
