Hi there, everyone! Boy, what a change in weather from last week, but it is November so we knew it was coming, right? Here is our Flocknote for this week. With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, there will probably NOT be a Flocknote next Friday.
First off, please know of my prayers & the prayers of our entire parish staff for a blessed Thanksgiving holiday! Even in the challenges & struggles of life there is always something to be grateful for, may we make our gratitude more than day but a habit of our lives.
1) Thanksgiving Day Mass: Before we gather around the tables of our own homes, we are invited to join around the ultimate Thanksgiving table, the table of the Lord for Mass at 9 am. This year Mass will be celebrated jointly at St. Pat's West Park (4427 Rocky River Dr.) since I will be the only one around to celebrate Mass, all are invited to join. The Lord's table is the table from which all of our blessings flow. Hope to see you there!
2) Thanksgiving Office Hours: With the Thanksgiving holiday, our office hours next week will be M & T: 9:30-4:30, W 9:30-12:30 & CLOSED Th & F. The office will reopen M, Nov. 29th for normal hours.
3) Giving Tree: Our St. Vincent de Paul Society sponsored Giving Tree will be up beginning this weekend. The tree can be found in the back of the Church in the vestibule. Please check it out & take an ornament or 2 if you are able. UNWRAPPED gifts must be returned by Sunday, Dec. 11th after the 9 am Mass in order to distribute them by Christmas. On behalf of our St. Vincent de Paul Society, thank you for your continued generosity!
4)
Thanksgiving Hymn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skdWLWF6Ttw"Now Thank We All Our God" is a great hymn of Thanksgiving. My Thanksgiving Day homily focuses on the origins of this hymn, which might be quite surprising. Perhaps we might take some time in prayer with this hymn as we give our own thanks to God (Click on the link above to listen).
Have a Blessed Week!
