The Mystery of the Incarnation
Advent is all about preparing for the coming of Christ. As Bishop Barron explains, there are three comings of Christ that we prepare our hearts for during Advent - Christ's coming in history, in the present moment, and at the Second Coming.
Most often, it is Christ's historical coming that we focus on during Advent as it is the birth of Jesus that we celebrate during Christmas. This great event that divides time itself is called the Incarnation.
While the Incarnation is a mystery of faith, that doesn't mean we can't know anything about it, it simply means we can't know everything about it. It means we can read about and study this truth every day and never fully plumb the depths of its meaning.
This Advent, take some time to meditate on the mystery of the Incarnation. Reflect on the truth that God became man in Jesus Christ. Think about how amazing that is and what it means for you.
