Support LTHC's Socktober
With cold weather coming, LTHC Homeless Services is seeking donations of new adult socks for its annual Socktober initiative in October, and St. Tom's is a collection location. You can also donate men's boxers (sizes S-L), women's underwear (sizes 5-8), and sports bras. If you would like to support this initiative, drop off your donation in the "Socktober" collection bin just outside the Church Office.
SAVE THE DATE: Advent Reflection on Nov. 28
Don't just go through the motions this Advent Season. Save the date and attend St. Tom's Advent Reflection with Sr. Irenaeus Schluttenhofer on Monday, Nov. 28. We often go through the motions: go to Mass, receive Communion, live a normal life, repeat. During our Advent Reflection, we’ll learn from youth and young adults who, before they died for the Lord, LIVED for the Eucharist. The evening reflection, titled “They Lived for the Word-Made-Flesh: Young Martyrs of the Eucharist,” begins with 5:30 p.m. Mass in the Church followed by a simple supper in Newman Hall at 6:00 p.m. Sr Irenaeus' presentation begins at 6:45 p.m. and will include a couple of breakout group sessions concluding at 8:45 p.m. Note: If you are unable to come for Mass or the dinner, you are still welcome to join us for the presentation. Come and be amazed at what God can do through His Grace and our willingness, regardless of age, background, or experience. Together, let’s see how these witnesses understood the power of the Eucharist and find encouragement towards the holiness to which each of us is uniquely called by God!
