Welcome back! Please consider joining the Prayer Shawl Ministry of our parishes either in person or from home. We will help you learn to knit or crochet at meetings. We will be meeting on the first Wednesday of the month in the Living Room at Assumption from September to June at 1-2:30 pm. Our next few meetings are October 5, November 2, and December 7th. We make prayer shawls (about 60-72 inches in size; square or rectangular), lap blankets (24 inches by 30-36-40 inches long), hats/scarfs/ and mittens for homeless or those in need and baby hats for the local hospitals. Our goals for the next few months are the hats /scarfs/mittens to be included with our angel tree gifts in December. We will continue to make prayer shawls and lap blankets as well. Thank you to all of those who have been contributing their talents. Last year many responded to the request for baptismal blankets, and we now have a large supply. Many contributed knitted and crochet hats for infants and hats and scarfs for inner city school children as well as the homeless.

Our new Youth Prayer Shawl ministry also contributed hats. In the last year we donated over 100 hats to local hospitals, over 50 hats to local inner city schools and the homeless as well as 70 shawls and lap blankets to the sick, console the grieving and those facing ills or surgery. Thank you for your talents and Corporal Works of Mercy, you have followed the Lord’s wishes and “helped clothe the naked heads, and cared for the sick.”
Items can be brought in at any meeting, dropped of at the office and they will contact us or brought to church on Sundays.
