Fourth Sunday of Easter
Today we will conduct our second in-pew pledge campaign at all the Masses. As a parish we are not doing well. Our goal was set at $40,000. So far we have raised $17,000.00. Below is a letter sent by Cardinal Dolan encouraging us to contribute to the “Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal”.

“Light of Christ! Thanks be to God! (From the Easter Vigil)
One effective way of bringing others to Jesus is to contribute to the Cardinal’s Appeal. This campaign continues to connect us all by bringing others closer to the mission of Jesus and His Church. Your donation make it possible for the Archdiocese of New York to extend God’s care to those in spiritual and temporal needs.
Want to learn more about what the
Cardinal’s Appeal’s does? Recently, you may have received two publications from the archdiocese:
Archways, and the
Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal’s impact report. If not, check them out on our website
https://archny.org. the purpose of these publications is to update you on what is happening in the Archdiocese of New York in the hopes that you will want to be a part of activities. The second main reason is that I want you to know what we, as a Church, are doing in order to achieve our mission of bringing our neighbors to know Jesus more.
What we accomplish as an archdiocese is a direct result of the good you do and the donations you so generously give. I am blessed by the support and kindness you bestow on our Catholic community and I humbly ask you again, to consider making a gift to the 2018 Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal.
With prayerful best wishes and gratitude, I remain,
Faithfully in Christ,
+Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan
Archbishop of New York

Fourth Sunday of Easter: In the first reading, we hear Peter preaching about Jesus again. He uses the line from Psalm 118-”The stone rejected by the builder has become the cornerstone”-to describe Jesus. This is becomes the refrain for the psalm. We then hear from John in the second reading and the Gospel, comforting us with images of Jesus as the Good Shepherd and us as the children of God. Let us consider the richness of these images as we listen to them today.
First Reading: Acts 4:8-12 : page 22~there is no salvation through anyone else.
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 118: page 23~ “The stone rejected by the builder has become the cornerstone”.
Second Reading: 1 John 3:1-2 : page 23~ We are God’s children now.
Gospel: John 10:11-18: page 23-24~ The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
