Prayer of the Faithful
The birth of God’s Son, Emmanuel, “God with us,” attests to the love God has for us. Trusting in that love, we bring our needs and the needs of our sisters and brothers before the Lord.
- Healing prayers for:
- JoAnn and James Denson
- Howie Wolf
- For the Church, that we may give witness to our vigilance in waiting for the Lord by faithfully serving him in the least among us, where he may always be found.
- That the nations of the world may “beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks,” using their resources to feed their people rather than arming themselves for conflict.
- For all those who relied upon the generosity and hospitality of others for their Thanksgiving meal, that they may be cared for during the rest of the year as well.
- For political prisoners, victims of religious persecution, and all who are unjustly imprisoned, that they may find hope in the Lord’s promise to remain with us always.
- For our faith community, that we may take the initiative to prepare one another for the Lord’s coming at any day or time.
- For all the prayers that we hold in the silence of our hearts; for all our intentions spoken and unspoken,
...let us pray to the Lord.
Loving God, you sent your Son to dwell with us always. May we walk in the light of his paths as we prepare ourselves and each other for his return in glory. Hear this and all our prayers through the One we joyously await, Emmanuel, God with us.
