This weekend, on the Second Sunday of Advent, we hear from John the Baptist about the coming of the Lord and how we must repent. We all know we are not living our lives exactly as we are supposed to be. We have all fallen into patterns of self-absorption and addiction; fallen short of the Glory of God. So this advent, let us truly head John's command to "Repent!" and turn our lives around. Let us live our lives as John the Baptist did, as an announcement of the coming of the Lord.
Altar Server Training
There will be a second altar server training this Sunday at 9:00 AM for anyone in 4th grade or up who is interested in becoming an altar server but did not attend the first training. Please contact the parish office to reserve a spot in the training!
Festival of Lights Workday
Volunteers are needed to help set up our light display for the Festival of Lights in Week Park! There will be a workday in Weed Park on Saturday, December 3, from 12:00pm (noon) to 3:00pm. Our site is across the road from the Zoo Garden. Many hands make light work...hope to see you there! Please contact John Miller or Kevin Custis with any questions.
Salvation Army Angel Trees
As we prepare our hearts and homes for Christmas, let’s not forget about those who would otherwise go without! Please pick your ornament(s) and return the gift(s) with ornament(s) attached. Please DO NOT wrap your gifts. All gifts need to be returned and placed under the trees by December 9th. Please keep in mind when donating, the older age groups are always short of gifts (gift cards work great for this age group). Our parish family has always been VERY generous supporting the children. Let's make this the best year yet!
This week's Formed Pick of the Week is for our younger parishioners. Brother Francis is an animated series designed for children 8 and under to help them understand how to live a joy-filled Catholic life. This particular Brother Francis series is a special seasonal celebration of the coming of the Lord. They are short videos featuring meditations, prayers, and suggested activities to keep our kiddos focused on Christ this Christmas.
There are also downloadable weekly Companion Guides for parents that go along with the daily videos.
