Personal Encounters with the Lord: Meet Him!
No one who approaches their creator leaves unchanged... In order to encourage everyone to realize that this “Encounter with the Lord” occurs at every single Mass when we receive Him in the Holy Eucharist, we have begun taking a short time of silence after we receive Holy Communion – to give us just a moment to realize the personal encounter we have each just had with the Lord by receiving Him in the Eucharist
St. Faustina asked God to bring the world to understand more the mystery of divine mercy and the Eucharist. She said, “Who will ever conceive and understand the depth of mercy that gushed forth from His Heart? It is only in eternity that we shall know the great mystery given to us in Holy Communion. One day we will know what God is doing for us in each Mass, and what sort of gift He is preparing through it for us.”
ADVENT WEEK 2 (December 4)
The 2nd Sunday of Advent symbolizes FAITH with the “BETHLEHEM CANDLE ” reminding us of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem. (Purple Candle)
The second week of Advent has the meaning of FAITH and LOVE. In this second week the second purple candle is lit, reminding us to remain faithful to prepare the way for the coming of the Lord. We are required to prepare our hearts and love for the coming of Christ.
The second candle is called the Bethlehem Wax which means that our Savior Jesus Christ will be born in our hearts.
As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet:
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in,
every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
the rough ways smooth.
And all people will see God’s salvation.”
(Luke 3: 4-6)
