Dear Friends in Christ and Friends of Sacred Music,
Peace to you! After a few months away from this particular task of commenting on Sacred Music on account of my and I welcoming a new baby boy into our family, we are reinstituting the weekly "notes" on Sacred Music.
I would be remiss if I didn't urge you again to consider attending tomorrow (Sunday)'s Sacred Concert at 3:00 PM where we perform Handel's Messiah. It is a work of tremendous energy, vigor, sweetness, and devotion. I want to thank all of our parish choir members for their energy and enthusiasm. Special thanks go to
Fr. Joseph for his enthusiastic support. A reception will follow down in Fr. Moorman Hall.
That is all for this week. We will resume our Friday previews of the coming Sunday's sacred music starting this Friday. Hopefully we will see you at the concert on Sunday! You can purchase tickets at the door if you have not already done so. $10 for adults and just $5 for students. All the singers and instrumentalists will be in the sanctuary (with the Blessed Sacrament reposed). This is often a very fascinating thing for younger students to get to observe.
God bless you!
In Christ,
Jacob Flaherty
