A project that several St Marksers have taken on is the crafting of Anglican Rosaries. An Anglican Rosary is similar to a traditional rosary, but it’s also different. The Anglican Rosary is a relatively new form of prayer. The use of the prayer beads helps to bring us into contemplative, meditative prayer—really thinking about and being mindful of praying and being in the presence of God. The touching of the fingers on each successive bead is an aid in keeping our mind from wandering, and the rhythm of the prayers leads us more readily into stillness. The rosaries that have been made so far are absolutely beautiful, and feel really good in the fingers.
Fr Rick has also put together a collection of prayers to use with an Anglican Rosary, which are based on the Sunday mornings lessons for each week of the year. This book is available on
Amazon now, and in a few weeks these books will be available to purchase here at St Mark’s.
Right now, all of the proceeds from the sale of the rosaries and the books will be going towards the Moved By The Spirit Capital Campaign.
So, if you’re looking for a little something for someone’s Christmas stocking… we might have just what you’re looking for!
In this email you can see a video that Fr Rick, introducing the Anglican Rosary, and another video which takes the prayer he made for this coming Sunday, which is set to the form of the Anglican Rosary.
