Congratulations to the Parishioners
of Immaculate Conception Parish
Les Anglais, Haiti
Dear parishioners,
As so many of you know, we have been assisting the parishioners of Immaculate Conception Parish in Les Anglais, and particularly the students of Notre Dame du Lourdes School, since December of 2013. A year and a half ago the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti destroyed their church, school and rectory. We at Christ the King have been assisting them generously as the work of reconstruction continues.
Though our financial assistance is largely directed to the school, its students and teachers, we take this opportunity to congratulate them today, their patronal feast day, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, on the re-opening of a place for worship.
Pictured below are three photos. The first is the original church before it was destroyed. The next two photos are of the “center” (a much smaller building) that has been reconstructed for worship. It is our understanding that this center was opened today for Masses on this feast day.
Please keep the people of Les Anglais in your prayers. And thanks to those parishioners who continue to donate toward this twinning relationship.
Msgr. Tom
