December 5 - 8
This week has been crazy with all of the sickness going around. We haven't had a full class all week. I was even at home with my sick kid this week so Ms. Jenna from Kindergarten got to come hang out for a day! Hopefully we will be back to normal soon!
This week Ms. Diane from Iowa State University Extension came to share with us about Christmas tree farms in Iowa. She brought pine needles and pine cones for us to feel to see if they were soft or pokey.
The gingerbread people were decorated with glitter, sequence, ribbon and glitter glue. They are hanging in the hallway outside of our classroom.
We completed another page for our green books. They could tear or cut paper and glue it to the gingerbread man on the paper.
Wednesday we made gingerbread cookies with our 5th grade reading buddies. Ms. Michelle baked them for us and on Thursday they decorated them with frosting & sprinkles. Before they tried the cookies they predicted if they would like the gingerbread cookies or if they wouldn’t like the gingerbread cookies. Everyone predicted they would like the cookies. After they tried the cookies two kids changed their answer to say they didn’t like the gingerbread cookies.
