Dear Epiphany Parishioners,
I pray that your Advent journey has been a blessed one and one full of grace. As we faithfully observe the final days of the Advent Season of preparation and anticipation, I am full of anticipation in the recent announcement by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston that very soon the Eucharist in the species of the Precious Blood will once again be offered at Communion time during Mass. His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo has instructed that the distribution of the Precious Blood will resume on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
This date is easy to remember because it is when we celebrate our parish feast day, the Epiphany of the Lord, during the upcoming Christmas Season. During Communion time starting Sunday, January 8th, we will resume offering the Precious Blood in the manner we were accustomed to prior to the pandemic. It has always been a gift to receive Christ in the Eucharist, and I am sure we are all humbly grateful to the Lord for the gift of His Body and Blood in the Eucharist to nourish our souls and strengthen our faith.
As we prepare to celebrate the Christmas Mass of the Birth of Our Lord this coming weekend, I wanted to as well share the schedule provided below of all of the Christmas Masses offered this Saturday (Christmas Eve) and Sunday (Christmas Day) at our parish. Please note that there will not be an evening Mass on Sunday, Christmas Day (per our usual Christmas schedule).
On behalf of the clergy of Epiphany of the Lord, I look forward to celebrating all of the Christmas liturgies surrounding our Savior's Incarnation with you and yours this Christmas Season!
Devotedly yours in Christ,
Rev. Tom Lam
Pastor
