Dear Brothers and Sisters,
“Let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.” These words from the first letter of John challenge us to make love concrete and authentic. This is also the love that Father showed us when he sent Jesus to die and rise for each one of us. God has bound himself to loving us by making a covenant with us; to “love us with an everlasting love” and in Psalm 89, God says, “I will not violate my covenant.” And then God commands us to “love one another as I have loved you.” We are to love one another in deed and in truth. This kind of love is costly and requires of us sacrifice and humility.
Let’s pray for the grace to love as Jesus loved.
God bless,
Fr. Tony
