Christmas is NEXT WEEKEND!

However, before we begin the celebration of Christmas, the Nativity - or birth - of Jesus into history, we still have a few days of the Advent season. In particular, the 17th through the 24th of December are known in the Church calendar as the "Late Advent" days. During this time, we remind ourselves all the more of the impending arrival of the Christ-child. In fact, the Divine Office, the prayers recited by clergy and religious, the Invitatory antiphon for this time becomes The Lord is close at hand; come let us worship him, indicating the brief time that remains.
On Sunday, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, we will light the last candle of the Advent wreath and it will become its brightest; that is, until the Light of the World - Jesus - arrives to outshine all lights a few days later!
At this Christmas when Christ comes, will He find a warm heart? Mark the season of Advent by loving and serving the others with God’s own love and concern.

In this short video, appropriate for family members of all ages, a boy, his sneakers, and a giant sombrero take up the story of St. Juan Diego’s miraculous encounter with the Blessed Virgin Mary. How far will Our Lady ask him to reach out in faith, trust, and confidence?
