A child is born to us, a son is given to us! And we rejoice in the promise of our salvation in the gift of our Redeemer born in our own humanity. The all-powerful God becomes vulnerable and dependent as a little child. The eternal is born in time that we might be reborn of grace and the Spirit to share His eternal glory. Our God comes near to us in our need, embracing our sin though sinless that He might redeem us from death and gain for us the inheritance of eternal life with Him. He comes not with an army of angels, not with the thundering roar of thunder and lightning but with the cry of an infant, shivering in the cold, hungry for our faith.
The Babe in Bethlehem reminds us that God is not found among the mighty and powerful, but among the weak and lowly. Such was the case with Little Audrey, weak and even insignificant in the eyes of the world, confined to her home and more often her own bed, she touched the world with the power of her prayer and the faith she inspired in others by her own faith and trust in Christ. As we look to a little child lying in a manger, we are reminded of Audrey dependent on the generosity and care of others as she trusted in the Lord and lived her live wholly for Him. May her example inspire us this Christmas Day and through the new year that we might surrender to God's will and live every day for Him as she did.
Merry Christmas! God's blessings to you and your loved ones during this sacred season.
