First Eucharist Masses this weekendFirst Eucharist Masses are among my favorite Masses of the year. It is such a wonderful experience to be with our children as they receive this sacrament for the very first time. In addition to a couple of Saturday Masses early in the day at Emmaus we do first Eucharist during regular weekend Masses. In that manner First Eucharist becomes a celebration of the entire parish. Children will be receiving First Eucharist at the following regular weekend Masses this weekend. Those Masses will be a bit longer than our usual Masses but the experience of being with our children on this special day in their lives is worth a few minutes more at Mass.
- Saturday Vigil at 5:00 PM
- Sunday at 8:30 AM and 12:15 PM
Count on Me Thank YouWe have had an excellent response to our Count on Me annual offertory commitment. Thank you to all who have sent in your commitment cards. If you have not yet done so please do so soon. We are working on the annual budget for the parish. Your commitment cards help us in that process.
Thank you to Catechists and to all of the Religious Education StaffI cannot express enough my appreciation to all of the religious education catechists, volunteers and staff. As our parish grows our RE programs grow larger each year. My observation has been that this year has been one of our most dynamic. That is so because of the dedication of our religious education staff, catechists and volunteers on all levels from pre-school through high school. But even more it is true because of the dedication of parents to helping their children grow in the faith. Working together we can fulfill what the Church states is the most important work of a parish after providing the Eucharist for its people. That is passing the faith on to the generations that follow us.
Pastoral Council Elections Coming SoonThe pastoral council is a very important advisory body in the life of our parish. Their input to me and the parish staff is vital to our growing parish. In addition, they have been active in implementing a number of things that have enhanced parish life. We are still open for nominees to serve on the council. If you would like to nominate someone or yourself you can do so simply by going to the parish website and filling out the form that you will find there.
