Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was the leader of the Catholic Church for almost eight years from April 19, 2005 to February 28, 2013. He is arguably the greatest theologian since the Second Vatican Council and his volume of writings attest to that. In the end, however, as the above post from Dr. Scott Hahn shows, his final words were, "I love you, Jesus." This simple, but heart-felt expression, declaring his true love for our Lord, shows us that it is our genuine love for Jesus that is most important. Thank you Pope Benedict, may you rest in peace.
