Happy and Holy Solemnity of the Epiphany of Our Lord!
What a blessing to celebrate with you in the New Year! Tomorrow, Monday, we will celebrate the Baptism of the Lord which will mark the end of our Christmas journey and begin Ordinary Time for the few weeks before we begin our Lenten journey.
Many of us have made resolutions to begin the New Year and as Christians these are important because these resolutions should be a moment of conversion; where we choose to do something to follow Jesus and the commands of our Heavenly Father to live our lives as saints among saints here on earth as we celebrate with the saints of the heavenly host. Because each of us are where we are in our faith journey, God sends His Holy Spirit to help us discover how we are to walk with him and his community of faith. Like the Magi in the Gospel this Sunday we have a choice of which road we take…do we chooses as they did to depart “for their country by another way.” (Mt 2:12) Or do we choose to go back to the way we were: the sins and the serving of the idols of the world...
