Dear Friend,
This weekend we commemorate for the 54th time in Illinois and for the 40th time as a nation the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the advancement of civil rights in the United States. The commemoration, and noting how long we have held this celebration, marks for us how much has been done and how much more there is left to do. As Christians, we seek the vision of the Beloved Community, in which all men and women of all races and all creeds are seen as God sees us, with inalienable dignity, intrinsic beauty, and immeasurable worth.
Please keep in your prayers the young people from our parish who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this week on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. We are blessed to welcome Bishop Mark Bartosic who will administer the sacrament and preside at Mass with the candidates, families, and friends. May the gifts of the Holy Spirit be strengthened in each one of them and may they follow be steadfast in their calling as children of God and disciples of Jesus.

Season of Stewardship
This weekend marks the second weekend in our parish's annual Season of Stewardship. This multi-week effort asks every parishioner to make their plan for the year ahead to steward their gifts of TIME, TALENT, and TREASURE. Please bring completed commitment cards to Mass to be returned in the Sunday offertory or plan to complete yours during Fr. Sergio's in-Mass appeal. To begin your process, please take a moment to read Fr. Sergio's letter and consider your Stewardship Commitment for 2023. We also encourage you to watch the video below of fellow parishioners and their witness to parish stewardship.

Save The Date - Parish Fish Fry!
Lent isn't far away and at Saint Andrew that includes fried fish, French fries, mac and cheese, and a whole lot of fun as we gather in community for two annual fish fries! Save the date for the evenings of Friday, February 24, and Friday March 31, 2023 and join us in the parish gymnasium.
