Hello Faith Formation Families!
Deacon Tom and I are very excited to offer the families of our parish the wonderful opportunity of a family retreat! A retreat is an opportunity to take a step back from the whirlwind of life and center in on the stillness of Christ in your life! This Family Retreat will be on Saturday afternoon, January 28th from 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM at St. Peter the Fisherman. The experience will begin with a community meal which will be followed by a couple large group sessions, as well as age-appropriate break-out workshops, with the afternoon ending with 4:00 PM Mass (lead by our Middle Schoolers!).
Everywhere we turn we face unprecedented pressures, emotions, struggles and situations that can sometimes make us feel overwhelmed, hopeless, and alone. The epidemic of mental health issues is something that affects each and every one of us in different ways, regardless of our age. This retreat is meant to open up the conversation about mental health and how we can turn to God to place a feeling of joy and hopefulness back in our lives.
We will be welcoming Catholic recording artist and speaker, Noelle Garcia, to lead this retreat! Noelle travels the country sharing the faith through witness, Scripture, catechesis and music! We are so excited for her to share her story with us and lead our families closer to Christ! For more information about Noelle, please check out her website HERE!
All families are expected to attend this retreat, as it is a part of our program! We are very excited to bring this opportunity to you! We have been working on this retreat since summer and we are confident you will find the time you spend with us fulfilling and worthwhile! For those who will be joining us, if you could RSVP for your family HERE to ensure we have enough food and supplies for everyone! And if you and your family are unable to attend, please email Lizzy at lizzyn@spfcp.org (if you haven't already - thank you to those who have!).
This is going to be a wonderful afternoon filled with community, conversation, and Christ and I hope that you all can join us! If you have any questions, please reach out to Deacon Tom or Lizzy - we are always happy to minister to you!
God Bless,
Lizzy Novak
