1-13-23
Monday, January 16th is a no school, teacher professional development day.
Report cards will go home next week.
We wished several more students a Happy Birthday this week: Dalia, Emmett, Wyatt, and it was Grady's half birthday today!
This week the kids worked hard on Fast testing, and we are practically done. I just need a few more students to test for reading fluency.
Math-
We are done with chapter 5, but we have not taken the test. It just wasn't a good idea with all of the Fast testing that needed to be done. The class will review next week and take the test either Wednesday or Thursday. Our next chapter will focus on regrouping while adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers.
Reading-
Our next story is titled "Jellies." This is a non-fiction story about different types of jellyfish and how they survive. The comprehension focus is over facts and opinions, and we'll work with verbs in the past, present, and future.
Science and Social Studies-
During science, students will investigate air and water using flexible tubes, syringes, and bottles. Next week in social studies we'll explore landforms. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful weekend!
