Dear Friend,
As Fr. Sergio writes in this weekend's Pastoral Letter in the bulletin, "The various stories of Jesus calling the disciples to follow him may often leave us scratching our heads. We might think to ourselves, 'there’s no way Peter and Andrew would have abandoned their nets and followed Jesus so quickly.' That type of impulsive response may seem incomprehensible to us, when in reality it is a part of our everyday lives."
The guidance of the Holy Spirit in our lives is often spontaneous, encouraging us to do those little things that make a big difference - asking about a friend's health; being patient with a parent, sibling, or child; or even a warm greeting to a stranger on a cold, bleak day. Watch for these spontaneous, impulsive movements in your life this week, and perhaps we can all better understand how Peter and Andrew could be so drawn to their experience with Jesus.
