Snow Week with NO SNOW!
The past two weeks we have had snow activities in our room. What a strange winter we are having this year! We did a great job of pretending that we had snow anyway.
Pretend: Ice fishing with beach chairs, fishing poles and ice shack to warm up in
Sensory Table: Snow (cotton balls) and construction trucks for moving snow
Art Table: Snow Coloring Pages, Glitter and glue snowflakes, snowmen, painting mittens with water colors, puffy paint snow
Reading Center: Snow books, blocks
Block Center: trains and magna tiles
We have been talking about Manners daily. Here are a few things we have been practicing:
- saying "yes, please" or "no, thank you" when offered snack
- pushing in our chairs when leaving the table
- throwing away our own snack wrappers
- talking about appropriate things at the table (things we like, the weather, what we will do at recess, what we did last night)
- taking turns and waiting without complaining
- having a calm body when its hard to wait
This week: We will be learning about outer space. We have a lot of exciting and fun things planned!!
Reminder--There is no school on Monday
