2 & 6. (1/25 & 1/26) Salesian Missions Visit
Are you being called to long-term service with the Catholic church after graduation? What opportunities are out there? What is it like? Is there a program that is a fit for me? On Wednesday (1/25) and Thursday (1/26) in the Gather Space at the St. Tom's Desk, Purdue alum Adam Rudin (BSME ’01) will be at St. Tom’s to discuss and answer questions about faith-based service. Adam is a former volunteer (Bolivia ’01-’03) and has served as the director of the Salesian Lay Missioners program since 2005.
3. (1/25 & 2/1) Wednesday Night Mass
Bring a friend and join fellow students for Mass at 9pm Wednesday. We hope you can make it! Chant choir will be singing for every fourth Wednesday of the month. Also, we will serve hot chocolate or ice cream after Mass!
4. (1/25) Spring Mission Trip Meeting
The mandatory call-out meeting for Spring Break Mission Trips is Wednesday (1/26) at 6:00 p.m. in the Siena Rooms downstairs.

7. (1/26 & 2/2) Sycamore Program
Sycamore is an informal course about the Christian faith and its relevance for life today. It gives you space to meet other people, share ideas, explore your beliefs, and think about questions that really matter. Our first meeting for spring 2023 will be in Newman Hall from 6:00 to 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, (1/26). In total, there will be seven meetings, with one a week. Each meeting will start with dinner (free, by the way) and lead into a video with a series of discussion questions throughout. All participants will be placed in small groups that they will be in for the duration of the program.
8. (1/26 & 2/2) Boiler Catholic Women
All ladies attending Purdue are invited to Room 4 at St. Tom's at 8PM every Thursday to foster strong relationships with other Catholic women and with God, to strive toward authentic femininity together, and to grow in faith!
9. (1/26 & 2/2) Boiler Catholic Men
All men attending Purdue, you're invited! Every Thursday at 8PM downstairs in the Siena Rooms, Men in any stage of faith come together for some healthy competition, community service, devoting time to the Bible, and much more.
10. (1/26) Dr. Oliver Mental Health
All students are welcome to attend a presentation about mental health. Titled, "I Think I Can, I Think I Can: Understanding How Our Thoughts Impact Our Mental Health," this presentation will be held at 8 PM in Neumann Hall on Thursday, 1/26. Covering healthy and unhealthy thinking patterns and other mental health topics, this event is open to Boiler Catholic Men, Boiler Catholic Women, and anyone else who may be interested!
11. (2/3) Beer, Wine, and Cheese Parish Reception
Join your fellow student and resident parishioners on Friday (3/23) at 6:00pm in Newman Hall for the annual Beer, Wine, and Cheese Reception. We will feature live music, a wide variety of hors d'oeuvres, a variety of craft beers and wines. The cost is $20 per person.
12. (1/27 & 2/3) Exalt -- Adoration/Praise and Worship
Everyone! Every Friday this semester at 8PM in the Church, we have an hour of adoration with praise and worship, quiet reflection, and spiritual talks. With snacks after!
13. (2/4) Called and Gifted Workshop (English and Spanish)
God has called and gifted you for a mission. When you were baptized, you were given the presence of the Holy Spirit and “charisms”, gifts of the Holy Spirit that enable you to be a channel of God’s love, truth, beauty, mercy, healing, and provision for others. The charisms that you have been given are important clues to your God-given mission in life and Holy Spirit empowered tools to enable you to live it! Join over 100,000 Catholics around the world who have begun to discern their charisms through the Called & Gifted workshop on Saturday 2/4 at 9am in Newman Hall.
14. (1/29 & 2/5) Sunday Night Dinner
We have Sunday Night Dinner every Sunday for only $3 at 5:30PM in Newman Hall. Bring a friend! Eat, socialize, and have a great time!
15. St. Dymphna Mental Health Resource Area Open!
Come visit the St. Dymphna Mental Health Resource Area right outside the Boiler Catholics Office. College is a stressful time for many people. At the mental health resource area we have puzzles and mindfulness activities for anyone to use! If you are struggling, do not hesitate to reach out to one of us officers or your friends. We are all here for you! You matter, never forget that.
16. New Purdue Grads: Diocese of Lafayette Job Openings
The Diocese of Lafayette is seeking candidates for entry-level positions within the new Greater Lafayette Central Administration Office (GLCAO) as bookkeepers and a position serving as the communications coordinator for the St. Mary’s and St. Ann’s pastorate. 17. Interested in teaching in the Pacific Islands after graduation?
Xavier High School is a co-ed Jesuit Catholic school founded in 1952 to support a sense of Micronesian unity and identity. We serve over 120 students from across the Micronesia region. Students receive financial aid to attend. Instruction is in English, which is a second language for many of our students. They are seeking teacher volunteers for Spring 2023 and future school years! 18. Looking for a Place to Study?
St. Toms was voted the #1 place to study by the Purdue Exponent. We have plenty of private classrooms if you want somewhere quite to study. You can also study in Newman Hall and socialize with others!
19. Parking at St. Tom's
Students are not to park in the St. Tom’s designated spots during business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). A warning notification is issued twice, and three-peat offenders are towed at the owner’s expense.
20. The Doors off of State Street
For everyone's safety, the doors off of State Street will be locked at midnight from now on. If you would like to come to the church after that time, enter through the doors off of Marsteller Street or off of the parking lot! Thank you :))
