As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week 2023, I pay tribute to each of you who are at the heart of the mission and ministry of Catholic education at Divine Mercy Parish and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School. It was Saint Thomas Aquinas, patron saint of Catholic schools, who told us, “To convert somebody, go and take them by the hand and guide them.”
Each day, through a commitment to shaping our students' hearts and minds, you do this by your word and example. You create an environment that encourages and guides our children to live their faith, to love learning, and to serve all, especially those in need. The genuine care displayed by our faculty and staff allows our young people to come to know that God's merciful love is without limit. It also encourages their capacity to achieve.
As pastor, I am truly grateful for the patience, wisdom, and dedication of each of you. May God keep our school community as a center where the truth of life and faith come together, and may He continue to bring His blessings upon each of you!
