Greetings from the Pastoral Council!
We hope this communication finds you doing well in the new year!
As we’ve highlighted in the past, time, talent and treasure are gifts each of us have in some shape or form. As your thoughts shift to the upcoming year, you may be considering how you and your family will use these gifts.
Our Parish offers an abundance of meaningful ways to get involved! We are also blessed to have some very special partnerships and relationships with many community service organizations which are highlighted in various ways throughout the year. We would like to share some information about one such organization – Catholic Charities Community Services (Catholic Charities).
Catholic Charities has been offering services for nearly 90 years. They have been referred to as a “hidden treasure” serving the community’s most vulnerable with solutions that permanently improve lives. Catholic Charities has over 20 programs that help people of all faiths, backgrounds, and abilities.
Below are some of their programs and services:
- Counseling - Foster Care and Adoption - Affordable Housing
- Veterans Services - Joining Hearts – Pregnancy Counseling
- Refugee Resettlement - Immigration Services - Sex Trafficking
- Dignity Diversion - Parents as Teachers - Miracle Projects
- In-Home Services | AZ Families First - Westside Head Start
- Domestic Violence – My Sisters’ Place and Pathways
You will continue to see and hear more about Catholic Charities in the upcoming months. There will be regular Parish communication, an information table after Mass at least once per month and invitations to get involved!
If you would like to find out more, volunteer or know someone that needs any of these services:
-Visit the website - CatholicCharitiesAZ.org;
-Stop by an information table and speak to one of the Parish Champions.
In closing, please know that we remain committed to working with Fr. Williams to move current initiatives forward and continue to support him during this transition. It has been a smooth transition and we have enjoyed getting to know Fr. Williams a bit more over the past few months. We know that he feels and appreciates all of your support as well!
We look forward to keeping you updated. As always, we are here to serve, so please reach out with any comments or suggestions at pastoralcouncil@bscaz.org or reply directly to this email. On behalf of the entire Pastoral Council, we wish you a Happy New Year filled with blessings!
