Back in 2010, I attended church planter training at the Southern Baptist Convention home office. For 2 days leaders in the Convention helped those of us called to plant with our vision and ideas to prepare us for the journey. In one of the classes we were asked to write out our vision and give each ministry a name. This is where the Road D.A.W.G.S., Road Angels, Team X, Kids Kruisers and Road Warriors all got their title. The Stunt Riders came later. And all of these ministries have been active at some point with the exception of Road Warriors.
Over the years I have cast the vision of Road Warriors in hopes that we would initiate teams of riders to go out and do what we love the most, riding. And by riding together as brothers and sisters begin sharing information about our church and the Good News of the Gospel to folks in the Triad. But for whatever reason, the Road Warriors never really launched.
13 years later, it’s time to see this ministry come alive! And I believe with all my heart that with just a little organization we can grow our church and see many people come to know Jesus!
This Saturday at 10 am will be the first of several meetings for anyone interested in participating as Road Warriors. The concept is simple and I believe we will see the fruit of our labor immediately once we launch.
Obviously to be a Road Warrior you will need a bike. However, included in the ministry objective, it would be awesome if we could eventually provide to the Triad a Road-Side assistance ministry. If you have a vehicle and trailer that can haul bikes and you would like to attend, by all means please join us!
I hope we can start this Saturday getting prepared for an amazing year of reaching people, loving neighbors, Riding H.A.R.D. and Riding Free!
Blessings,
Preacherman
