Bendecidos por Dios, hoy y siempre.
Este domingo, nos adentramos en el seguimiento de Jesús, la reflexión para cada uno debe ser, ¿ cómo busco yo al Dios que me ha dado la vida, como me acerco a Él y como lo sirvo? . Por ejemplo hoy el profeta está hablando de la experiencia del resto de Israel, o sea es una nueva comunidad, tal vez con la experiencia del fracaso pero también del amor de Dios también.
Dios no solo está en búsqueda de individuos, también busca un pueblo que ponga su entera confianza en Él. En el Antiguo Testamento se hace referencia a esta búsqueda por parte de Dios de un pueblo que le sea fiel, que respete sus preceptos, que lo celebre y le ofrezca culto de acuerdo con la justicia y que su nombre sea glorificado por la boca de aquellos que le buscan con corazón sincero, aunque solo sean unos pocos, un resto.
Por otro lado, sabemos por la experiencia de San Pablo que los seguidores de Jesús son hombres y mujeres humildes, pobres, trabajadores y algunos sufridos, Dios se ha fijado en aquello que ante los ojos de muchos poderosos no valen. Pero Dios los exalta, los llama, los coloca en una misión de amor y de propagar su experiencia salvadora en la Cruz, que sean testigos del Resucitado, el que sufrió por todos en la cruz.
Hoy las Bienaventuranzas del Evangelio son verdaderas consolaciones porque la persona religiosa, el creyente, como parte de la creación del mundo, no puede dejar de experimentar la desgracia, el dolor, la angustia, la decepción, el sufrimiento, etc. Sin embargo, y al mismo tiempo, encuentra en su experiencia religiosa la fuerza y el impulso necesarios para sobreponerse a todo aquello que es negatividad y que amenaza a su vida y persona. Las consolaciones son momentos trascendentales en nuestra existencia porque por medio de ellas la esperanza descubre que el cielo y la tierra no son dimensiones separadas ni desconectadas entre sí, antes, al contrario, intuye que forman parte de una misma realidad salidas de la mano del creador. Cada vez que los cristianos quieren propagar la buena nueva, siempre encontrarán oposiciones, pero también, encontraremos la consolación, que viene del Dios que encarnó su Palabra en el vientre de María, que se hace carne, se hace hombre y nos muestra su solidaridad y su amor. FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD
On February 2, we celebrate Jesus Christ's presentation in the temple when he was a young child. Mary and Joseph observed this Old Testament tradition of offering their child to be consecrated to the Lord 40 days after birth. This day is also known as the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin, Candlemas, with many faithful bringing candles to the church to get it blessed.

BLESSING OF THE THROATS
February 3 is the feast of St. Blaise. There will be a blessing of the throats after the 8 AM Mass.

You may be familiar with the annual “blessing of throats” that many parishes in the United States use to commemorate the beloved bishop and martyr. St. Blaise lived in the fourth century in Turkey and Armenia. Due to religious persecution, he was forced to flee and hide in a cave in the backcountry in order to save his life.
History has it that one day a group of hunters stumbled upon where St. Blaise was living. They found the bishop kneeling in prayer, surrounded by wolves, lions, and bears that he had tamed. The legend has it that as the hunters dragged Blaise off to prison, a mother came with her young son who had a fish bone lodged in his throat. At Blaise’s command, the child was able to cough up the bone and thus lived.
We remember the saint on his feast day by taking two candles, crossing them against the throat, and saying the following prayer:
Through the intercession of St. Blaise, bishop and martyr, may God deliver you from ailments of the throat and from every other evil. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. ©LPi
