Lector Workshop & Training in February
All lectors are asked to attend one of the lector workshop and training sessions scheduled for February. The sessions are for current lectors and anyone who would like to be a lector. The sessions are:
♦ Monday, Feb. 13 at Holy Rosary Church
♦ Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Miraculous Medal Church
♦ Thursday, Feb. 16 at St. Patrick Church
*All sessions will be at 7 p.m. in the church.
Eucharistic Adoration on Feb. 3
Eucharistic Adoration is an opportunity to join more intimately with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration will be held Friday, Feb.3, in the Adoration Chapel at St. Patrick Center. Registration is not required, but helps in making sure at least two people are present throughout the 12 hours. Contact Melissa at 724-809-4935 or email her at melissa.slagle@comcast.net to schedule.
Fish Fry Updates | Volunteer!
Volunteer Meeting: Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 6 PM at the OLMM Banquet Hall Our parish is currently planning our 2023 Fish Fry at our St. Patrick and OLMM locations. The past few years, we've been blessed with volunteers coming together from all three churches to serve our community and each other. We are so grateful for our financial success but more importantly for the relationships that we continue to grow.
The 2023 Fish Fry begins on Ash Wednesday Feb. 22 and continues each Friday of Lent through March 31. We do not operate on Good Friday. Please see the bulletin for more information on volunteering for this important ministry!

Scripture Series Starts on March 8
The 4 Gospels each have their own insight into the passion and death of Jesus. What might their portraits say about our own journey through life? Come learn more with a Scripture Series beginning Wednesday, March 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the basement of Miraculous Medal Church. Our parishioner Dennis Gehrlein will facilitate the program as he weaves together scripture with his own unique perspective as a former Passionist religious. The 4-week program will take place Wednesday nights through March 29. Come to one or all of the sessions and discover how Jesus’ passion and death 2000 years ago still impact our lives today.
St. Oscar Romero is going to Lancaster
June 20-22, 2023!
St Oscar Romero Parish is traveling to Lancaster again from June 20-22, 2023! We will be staying at the Fulton Steamboat Inn with breakfast each morning.
Shows: “Moses” at Sight N Sound Theater and dinner following the show. “Elvis” at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. Also, we will be doing shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village and other outlet store.
Price is $445 per person, based on 2 per room. (Single, triple and quad available on request) Price includes the hotel for 2 nights with breakfast, bus transportation and gratuities, and tickets to both shows and dinners.
If interested in reserving your space, I will need your names, email and phone number and travel roommate. A deposit of $100 is due to reserve your seat. If paying by credit card, there is a 3% service fee. (I recommend paying by check). Final payment is due May 1, 2023.

Grief Support Group starts Feb. 18
The journey of grief is a powerful and personal experience that often we cannot put into words. It seems like our whole world has changed, and there is truth to that. But we don’t need to make the journey alone.
Beginning Saturday, Feb. 18, our parish will sponsor a 4-week grief/bereavement support group from 9:30 to 11 a.m. It will take place in the Sacred Heart Room at the St. Patrick Parish Center. To sign up or for more information, please call the parish office at 724-745-6560.

Pancake Breakfast: Feb. 11

Book Club Resumes in February
The Tuesday Nightingale Book Club will gather Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 5:30-7 p.m. at Panera in Washington. We will discuss the novel, “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell” by Robert Dugoni. All are welcome!
Mental Health Ministry
The St. Oscar Romero Parish Mental Health Ministry will meet on Monday, Jan 23, at St. Patrick's Center Dining and Sacred Heart Rooms beginning at 7 p.m. and lasting approx. 60-90 minutes. We will watch and and continue discussions related to the new Sanctuary series "When a Loved One Dies By Suicide." Even if you miss a session, you are welcome to join at any time because the video series will be repeated again in the future.
We hope you can join us in this very important ministry that will continue to evolve to meet the needs/desires of the parishioners. We are pleased with the attendance and participation so far and our group is very friendly and welcoming!

Eucharistic Minister Training-Feb. 6 or Feb. 11
These are for ALL Eucharistic Ministers AND any parishioners interested in becoming involved in serving our parish community and its visitors. All Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist will gather so we may all follow the same procedures at all of our worship sites. Sessions, as selected by those ministers present at recent meetings, will be: Monday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m., both at St. Patrick Church. Choose one session. These will not be lengthy sessions, but are necessary. Thanks for your commitment!
