To the “Flock” from the “Administrator”,
“Peace be with you.” said our Lord. Not as the world gives peace does He give peace. Jesus showed the disciples his nail-pierced hands and his wounded side in the Upper Room. He understands how painful it can be in the world. He understands our temptation to play it safe, staying in the Upper Room rather than exiting to go out to the ends of the earth. So, we ask for spiritual courage and fortitude to overcome our fears.
Thank you to so many of you who have responded to the call to step forward and be more active in our faith community! If you are a parent, then you understand how your child is a sacred trust. Safety and security issues must be addressed if we are ever to move forward in growing our school and church campus. Security cameras, a new fence behind the school, clear and secure separation between the school and office areas, are but a few of the security issues being immediately addressed in the coming weeks and months.
Without a vision, it is said the people die. What is your personal vision for Saint Catherine’s parish and school? How might your personal input contribute to the greater vision of our entire parish? And how might we then seek to make this vision a reality? I encourage you to dream dreams and consider where you would like our parish to be in 10 years. In 20 years? In 50 years? And then consider sharing your
vision with others in our pews, and members of our Parish, Finance, and Building committees, or perhaps make an appointment to sit down with me to share your thoughts. We all have a piece of the puzzle. Don’t think for a moment that you have nothing to contribute. May God bless us with joy as we
move forward in faithfulness!
Sincerely,
Fr Martin Fitzgerald
Parish Administrator
