Lent
The Lent scriptures offer us many stories of Jesus encountering people who are seeking. In these stories, each person is seeking a new beginning, a different life, a deeper faith. What unfolds is an exchange filled with questions and exploration. Often, an unveiling occurs–assumptions are disrupted, a new perspective is revealed, mystery grows. So, we will be focusing our Lenten series on questions. Each week will have a question, but we won’t necessarily be looking for direct answers, but for clarity and a new perspective. The hope is that this will lead to a Lenten time that will bring a new beginning, a restoration, a wider grace. Something that the series will be encouraging us to think about throughout is: What am I seeking? What is God seeking?
With that in mind, in and outside of worship I will be including space for all of us to ask questions and seek answers. I am bringing that up now, because I want you to start thinking about what questions you might have about our faith, about God, about the Bible, about life! I may have answers for some of them, I may have educated guesses for others, and I may have no idea and need to look into it. Someone else might have an answer, might have a guess, or might know where to look. I hope we can explore our questions together and be blessed by digging deeper into our faith. But again, start thinking and collecting your questions!
There are a few ways you can engage in our Lent series. We have a daily devotional that will be sent week by week here in the Flocknote. Ask Mitzi or Pastor Kelsey if you would like a printed copy.
Our friends at A Sanctified Art have also provided a special e-reader version of this year’s Lent devotional, which you can access on your computer and mobile devices: [To come]

Facebook
During Lent there will be daily posts on our church Facebook page that correspond with the devotional or other content for each week. It is a great place to engage with the Lent content from home, to interact with each other about the devotionals, or to easily share something meaningful that has stuck with you this week from the series.
